Our journey to Paint and Pin
Rebecca and Emma are mother and daughter who are part of a very creative family. Like generations before them they found joy in the arts with each other, during Emma's childhood with her siblings enjoying crafting with their mum Rebecca and as time has gone by individually throughout adult life. Rebecca with her love for painting and illustration, and Emma with her passion for textiles and sewing, both explored their artistic passions separately for years. Over time sharing knowledge and helping others enjoy creative experiences felt like a natural calling.
"We spoke for a long time about combining our experience to run workshops, and in 2026, a change in Emma's job situation created the perfect opportunity for us to take the leap and start Paint and Pin. Our workshops are designed to be welcoming, inspiring, and a place where you can learn something new alongside others who share your enthusiasm."
The joy of creating and connecting
What we love most about teaching these crafts is watching people realise they can step out of their comfort zone, try something new, and be truly happy with their finished product! It's incredibly rewarding to give someone an enjoyable afternoon, helping them discover new techniques and leave with a sense of accomplishment. We believe that creativity is for everyone, and our workshops foster an environment where every brushstroke and stitch brings joy.

Feel like you might recognise us?
Rebecca is well known locally for her detailed birds eye view paintings and has taken part in a many large art trails such as Belper, Melbourne, Amber Valley's Ey Up Me Duck and Derby's Rams. Emma was a tour guide at Denby Pottery, she might have taken you around the museum or factory and you could have seen her in the craft studio during events, workshops and Paint a Pot too!
